Valeria Arza
Background
Valeria Arza is senior researcher in science, technology and innovation policy at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) with workplace at the Research Center for the Transformation of the National University of San Martin (CENIT/UNSAM). She is Associate Professor of Industrial Organisation at Buenos Aires University and funding member of the Latin American Hub of the STEPS Global Consortium.
She has honors degree on Economics (Buenos Aires University) a Master in Development (London School of Economics) and a PhD in Studies of Science and Technology Policy (SPRU, Sussex University)
Research interests
She is an economist and innovation scholar, experienced on knowledge networks for development and science and technology policy studies. Her research interests are on open science, intellectual property, and productive innovation. She is currently leading projects on Digital Science in Latin America; Complementary Factors affecting the Returns to R&D in Argentina; Regional innovation and competiveness in Argentina; and Evaluation of Science and Technology Policy in Argentina. She is also participating in UKRI-UNDP project on how science, research and innovation could contribute to meeting sustainable development goals in developing countries.
